Earlier this year I launched a canvas print series called ‘Let Them Go, Let Them Grow’. My hope was firstly to get some of my fishing photography off my dusty hard drives and displayed in the homes/offices/fishing caves of those who appreciate the beauty of the fish we pursue and the big ones we release. (Thank you to those that have purchased a print so far!) Secondly I wanted to raise money for local conservation with 10% of proceeds from all prints going to the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters. What I did not expect was that it would also become a way to help others.

Just over a year ago I was so fortunate to meet an amazing woman named Jenn through our mutual love of fishing. Since then we’ve shared some unforgettable memories on the water and ice as you may have read about in my articles and blogs. As I’ve gotten to learn more about Jenn and get to know her better, I see how she’s an amazing role model not only in her home raising little ones, but also her strong community involvement. Jenn is the bright light and strength wherever she goes and family is so important to her.

Sadly Jenn’s family recently lost their dear uncle Keith (Watson) unexpectedly, which has been very difficult for everyone. It was thought that Keith would be getting a second chance coming out of extensive surgery, but ultimately complications took his life following the surgery. Jenn, her husband, and 3 sons are thankful to have had so many great memories shared with uncle Keith and aunt Patsy. Jenn was looking forward to fishing adventures with uncle Keith this summer after sharing stories of our own adventures over the past few months. Keith too enjoyed fishing.

This 24” X 16” smallmouth bass canvas print was selected to be auctioned as part of a fundraiser taking place on June 9th in Renfrew (Ontario) in honor of Keith. Funds will help the family with hospital bills and travel costs incurred during Keith’s time in the hospital.

Please leave your bid in the comments here on Facebook and/or share this post to help us spread the word. If you do not have Facebook, please use the form below to make a bid and don’t forget to include your email address. Bidding will be open until Wednesday, June 7th at 9PM EST. The highest bidder will receive the print via mail. As bidding begins, I will update this post to include the current highest bid. (Bids will be in Canadian currency.)
