A trip of a lifetime! 😸🎣 Did not know they could fly! 😱😭 I’ll soon be putting away the panfish gear and bringing out the carp gear! We’ve been scoping out some new waters to explore this season and I can’t wait! From solo trips to big group trips, urban spots to secluded areas, what I love most about carp fishing is sharing the bank with good company. I especially love it when there’s dogs joining us! My pup, Blitz, is to my immediate right in the photo. He’s had his Aussie moments, but last season he got pretty comfortable joining us on the bank. Much like me, he doesn’t sit still very long but we’re both good if we get a walk in during our outings. Our friends Pam & Adam’s pup, Copper, is sitting in the background. He’s as chill as they come. I love these fluffy lil guys! 😀 I can’t wait to see what we catch this spring! Had to capture a glimpse of the stunning sunset I got to witness last night. It was gorgeous! 🌞✨ We went on another quick panfish shore fishing excursion and the action was good with perch, pumpkinseeds, bluegills, and a few crappie. It was also great to chat with a conservation officer who stopped by to check for fishing licenses, which I'm always glad to see! I hope to sneak in a few more of these fun little outings before moving on to target other species, and getting out in my boat and kayaks! It's going to be a busy spring and I can't wait for all the adventures! 😊 Yesterday was one of my favourite days in awhile! I spent the daytime hours in the woods searching for shed antlers with a friend, and was lucky enough to find 2! I then spent the evening shore fishing with Eric in pursuit of panfish. Keeping it simple, we each brought along an ultralight set-up and a bit of tackle. I had a 1/16oz white tube tied on underneath a slip float. It was so nice to kick off the open water season with some yellow perch, pumpkinseeds, and my favourite when it comes to panfish - black crappie! I love the colours on these feisty little guys! We got to watch our floats drop all evening until the sun dipped behind the trees and I couldn’t feel my hands anymore (as I forgot my gloves). Last year had some big challenges to overcome and I felt ‘foggy’ at times, not always living in the moment. I’m determined to stay more focused and present this year. I am grateful for the time spent in the woods and on the water, taking in the sights and sounds of nature, and the healing that it all brings. Thank you to my friends at @yamahamotorcanada, I’ve had the opportunity to rip around in a Wolverine RMAX2 1000 LE over the past several months! I have experienced a variety of adventures with this machine; from traveling deep deep into the woods to fish secluded lakes up in Northern Ontario, getting to and from my blind throughout deer hunting season, to (more recently) shed antler hunting, and having a little fun in the mud! 😜 I have absolutely loved running this powerful (and very comfortable) unit, and it’s impressive how smoothly it has handled rugged terrain and trails. I look forward to more SXS and ATV adventures in the future!
