Every other week I write a fishing column for the Kingston Whig-Standard newspaper in the Saturday sports section. If you’re not in the area to pick up a copy, you can read my columns online here: http://www.thewhig.com/author/ashley-rae
My last column was about a new personal best black crappie I caught this spring. What an exciting experience! I had never gotten the shakes from a panfish before this guy came along! You can see the gorgeous 14-incher below, and check out the article here: http://www.thewhig.com/2016/04/27/this-14-inch-black-crappie-a-personal-best-catch

In other news, I’ve ordered a new boat this year that will be arriving at Urban Sport in Arnprior (Ontario) soon! Urban Sport is the newest Alumacraft dealer in the Ottawa area and I’m very excited to partner with them! I can’t even describe to you how anxious I am for my new boat to arrive. I’ve been dreaming about this boat most nights and fantasizing about it every single day. First I will say that it comes with mixed feelings that my beloved Ruby is now for sale, but I’ll be stepping it up a bit to something different and it’ll be everything I could ever ask for and more. It will open up many new opportunities on the water. I won’t give too much away yet, but here’s the first photo I received from the Alumacraft factory of my boat in production:

Lastly, today is the launch of “The Search” a film by Rapala Canada. I’m thankful that I was part of this filming project that took place last year. You can view the film below:
