I’m a little late in posting this, but I’m still thinking about all the fun I had at the Hamilton Boat, Fishing & Outdoor Show that took place on March 3rd to the 5th! This show fell on back-to-back weekends with the London Show that I was also also apart of. The Hamilton Show just passed it’s 7th year but with all the amazing support and attendance, you’d think it had been around much longer. It was my first time in the Mount Hope area and I had a blast! The show took place at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, a very unique venue.
This was my first time being invited as an official show ambassador, and it was a wonderful opportunity being part of both shows! I promoted the events through my social media pages leading up to each show, interviewed some of our speakers, emceed and helped out with the seminar stages, as well as put on my own presentations and live videos. Both shows were very busy and I truly enjoyed the entire experience!

I was lucky to spend the weekend at the Hamilton Show with an amazing crew of anglers presenting seminars and talking fishing with guests at the show. Tough life, eh? Included in the seminar speaker line-up for this show was:
- Brent Bochek, of Fish NV. I’ve had the opportunity to share the water with in the past with Brent and he’s one of the kindest people in the industry. He and his wife, Heather, both share a passion for fishing along with their children. Fish NV along with Lowe Boats (one of Brent’s sponsors), were the sponsors of the Let’s Go Fishing Seminar Series at the show this year. Brent came up with the idea to get seminars started at this show in the past, and he has done a great job with it. Brent discussed his tips and tricks for targeting walleye throughout the seasons.
- Joe Rodrigues, a bass tournament angler who competes in events in Canada and the United States. This was my first time meeting Joe, and he was a lot of fun to work with. He shared a lot of great information on both largemouth and smallmouth bass fishing throughout the seasons and what has helped him find success during tournaments. He talked about various bodies of water throughout the area as well as the locations he has traveled to, and some neat time-saving and money-saving tricks.
- Rob Cadeau, multi-species angler and guide at Northern Outdoors Canada Guide Service. Funny enough I didn’t realize until arriving at the show that I had met Rob last summer at the Wolseley Lodge boat launch on the French River. Rob has been featured on several TV episodes and publications sharing his fishing knowledge and passion for the sport. He put on some very informative and educational seminars about musky fishing. Rob is such a funny guy, too!
- Shane Thombs of FINtastic Sportfishing. Shane operates a charter business on Lake Ontario and Lake Erie targeting salmon, trout, and walleye. I had talked to Shane in the past via email, but this was the first time meeting in person. Shane is very kind, extremely knowledgeable, and put on some great seminars about targeting walleye on the Great Lakes. I was happy to hear him discussing the Bay of Quinte too, my home water!
My seminar included how I got into fishing, my journey through the fishing industry, along with tactics for locating and targeting early spring black crappie. Thanks to all that came out to the show, stopped by to say hello, and joined in on our seminars & live videos! We all had such a great time!

In addition to the seminars and talking about fishing with everyone that came out to the show, I hosted live Facebook videos each day on my Facebook page. Brent, Joe, and Rob joined me for these videos and we had a lot of laughs chatting and answering questions with anglers tuning in from around the world. It was definitely a highlight! The response on the live videos was pretty amazing, with many people at the show also tuning in! Many have expressed that they hope to see more live videos so I plan to do more this year! You can still view all the videos on my Facebook page if you missed out during the show.

Currently I don’t have any other trade show plans for the remainder of the season, so it was a wonderful way to cap things off with such a fun crew! I look forward to getting out on the open water soon (I hope), although we are currently in the midst of another snow storm here in Ottawa.
As always, thank you for stopping by! Be sure to subscribe below to receive my new posts via email. You can also connect with me on social media to stay up to date with my adventures out on the water.
