Late one evening, back in 2016, I was chatting with a friend and came up with an idea to host a women’s walleye fishing event late autumn on the Bay of Quinte. I couldn’t sleep until I planned everything out. Targeting these trophy migratory walleye each fall is one of my favourite types of fishing. I thought that a women’s event would be a great opportunity to showcase and share this experience. This fall brings the 3rd Annual Ladies Walleye Weekend! In past years this event has brought about new friendships, many firsts, personal bests, so much laughter, some BIG walleye, and even happy tears! I cannot wait for this year’s event!
The trip includes 3 days of fishing with professional fishing guides on the Bay of Quinte out of Picton, Ontario. This year our guides will be Captain Greg Amiel of Fishing 4 Tails and Captain Shawn Banks of Homewrecker Charters. Greg and Shawn both have extensive experience and are among the top guides on the Bay of Quinte. Both guides are fully licensed with large boats to accommodate our group and will provide all equipment needed for fishing. We will be trolling for these walleye. As with past years, this weekend will provide a great learning experience and a fun way to meet like-minded female anglers. On previous trips, many of the ladies signed up not knowing any other participants. It amazes me how quickly friendships have formed during the past 2 events.
Participants will arrive at our accommodations on Thursday night. I will host a casual seminar to share information on this type of fishing for those who haven’t yet experienced it. A potluck will be held on arrival night (this has been an annual tradition that usually ends up feeding us for several days)! Once all guests are confirmed, I will organize a food list.
The event takes place on November 23, 24 & 25, 2018. We will all arrive on Thursday evening (November 22nd) in Picton and spend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on the water (weather permitting at the discretion of our guides).
The cost is $850.00 per person which includes 3 full days on the water and 3 nights accommodations in Picton. Participants are responsible for their own food throughout the trip however we will be organizing a sign-up sheet for a potluck and other meals to help cut down on costs for everyone. Our accommodations have a large full kitchen with all utensils provides, so there’s plenty of room for everyone. There will be snacks and refreshments available aboard the boats. I will be on hand snapping photos and capturing everyone’s experience, sharing photos and videos on social media during the adventure, then following up with a blog about our adventure.
There will be 7 spots available on a first come first serve basis. Contact me for more details and to reserve your spot. The past 2 events have sold out.
